ONLINE VOTING

As per the directive of the undergraduate population at UVic, all elections and referendum will take place online as opposed to the traditional paper ballot system.  Polling stations will be still set up on campus, however eligible voters will be able cast their ballot from home or wherever they are, using a personal computer, tablet, phone or internet accessible device.  UVSS members on exchange and coop will have the same access to the voting system as all other students.  More information will be emailed to you closer to the voting days with a link to the voting website.

Log into the voting system using your Netlink ID and password.  For the Spring 2012 elections to the Board of Directors, voting opens at 9:00am PST on Wednesday February 29, 2012 and closes at 9:00am PST on Thursday March 1, 2012.  Access to the voting system can be gained by visiting webvote.uvic.ca.

VOTER ELIGIBILITY

All individuals who pay UVSS Fees are eligible to vote for elections to the Board of Directors, as well as for Referenda. Distance student, COOP students and Exchange students are all encouraged to vote in the UVSS Elections.  Some students in specialized non-undergraduate programs still pay UVSS fees, and as such, are privy to the same benefits and voting rights as undergraduate students.  This includes: Law Students, some Island Medical Students, STEPS Forward Program participants, and students in the PDP (Education) Program.  If you are unsure as to whether you pay UVSS fees, log into the UVic System and check the "Account Summary by Term" (My Courses --> Account Balance) and to see if the UVIC Student Society fee is charged to your account.
