UVSS Clubs

There are over 75 environmental, cultural,  political,  religious, and recreational clubs on campus. Clubs are funded through student fees and receive a stipend from the UVSS every semester.  They are free to join and are open to students and community members.

From Swing Dance to Aikido to the Western Canada Wilderness Committee, there is something for everyone.  If you want to start a new club, drop by the UVSS Resource Centre and talk to Jenn Bowie, Chair of Clubs Council.

Clubs Council meets once a month and oversees clubs' status, funding, and special events grants.

Vikes Athletics Clubs

There are over 25 sports and recreational clubs sponsored by Vikes Athletics.  Sports clubs are led 'by students, for students' to promote physical activity and social interaction.  They operate out of McKinnon Building.

Course Unions

Over 40 different course unions represent UVic's academic departments.  Membership is open to students registered in any class of that department - with the exception of PsychOs (Psycology Course Union) which includes "friends of PsychOs."

Course Unions plan academic events and social activities related to their area of study.   Look out for course union students tabling by Petch Fountain to check out pub crawls, competitions, and academic conferences.  If you’d like to start up a course union in your department, head to the UVSS Resource Centre and talk to Jenn Bowie, Chair of Course Union Council.

Course Union Council meets once a month and oversees course union ratification, travel pool distribution, publication funding, and academic grant funding.
